I actually took these people up on their offer. Foolish me. Sent them a cheque for 12.95 plus 2.80 for registered post on 29/12/2009. I have been to their website and left numerous messages. Called their office & left voice messages. The ‘answering machine’ apologised that they were busy due to renovations, to leave a message & someone would call back as ASAP. To this day have not received the glasses. The company cashed my cheque. I contacted Consumer Affairs, they couldn’t do anything, I then called Australian Competition & Consumer Affairs (ACCC). They deal with complaints
from consumers on a wide scale, for people who have no resolution regarding
their dealings with companies who are non compliant with matters. They have
taken a formal complaint from me said they would follow up on the wherabouts
of the glasses promised & paid for by customers. (Under section 28 of the
consumer act: failure to provide goods and services upon receiving payment
for them.)
The number for the ‘glasses people’ is now disconnected.
Still haven’t heard anything & never will! How sad that so many people collectively (individually it’s ony $16) have lost their money & this company has gotten away with it.
SO, as the saying goes, - if an offer sounds too good to be true, it usually is!
