This is not a godd site. I like other reviewers here found the site to be unreliable, and yes I too received fake emails from prospective housemates. Steer clear of this one

Unfortunately, I found easy roommate overwhelming cheating, I recieved a lot fake promotion email from easy roommate once I apply for acommodation. don't be traped .

I agree with the below comment. I am a member of easy room mate and found gumtree a much more reliable source. It was such a hassel signng up which took forever. Another suggestion - domain shared accomadation www.domain.com.au

NOT EASY ROOM MATE !!

I used this site some time ago and it really is not very good at all. It required signing up and the site was one of the most difficult I have ever used. Personally it was a poor service as are other share accomodation sites in AUS. Maybe try your luck at 'Gumtree' with all the hustlers.
