Having been recognised by UNESCO as a ‘Creative City – Gastronomy’ Macao is keen to spread the word to food-loving folk everywhere, and from 18-22 April 2018, Sydneysiders will be able to tuck in with gusto as Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) promotes and celebrates Macao 2018 Year of Gastronomy, around the streets of the harbour city.
Taste of Macao will come to Sydney via a colourfully-decorated Eat Art Truck with its chefs – led by local award-winning chef Julian Cincotta – preparing a trio of FREE world-renowned Macanese dishes including Galinha à Africana (African Chicken), the iconic tasty pork chop bun and the Macanese version of the Portuguese egg tart.
Julian Concotta is a co-owner of a number of trendy Sydney restaurants, including The Thievery in Glebe and Butter in Surry Hills. He has worked under chef Neil Perry at Rockpool, and honed his international expertise at top restaurants in the USA, winning the prestigious Josephine Pignolet Young Chef of the Year award in the Sydney Morning Herald Good Food Guide 2015.
