The bonus baggage allowance saves another $20–40 per trip if you’d otherwise pay for an extra bag. Three trips a year and the membership easily pays for itself, with the rest of the savings going into your pocket.
One catch: Member fares don’t apply to Friday Fares or major sale events — the public fare is already lower. So if you’re flexible and book mostly during sales, the membership delivers less value. It works best if you book at standard times for fixed travel dates.
Mid-week departures are commonly cheaper than Friday/Sunday flights — sometimes by $50+ on the same route. If your travel is flexible by 1–2 days, shifting from Friday to Wednesday is the single biggest fare hack on Jetstar.
