Almost every 7-Eleven saving runs through the My 7-Eleven app — Fuel Lock, coffee rewards, and app-only food deals. Without it you’re paying the board price at the pump and full price on snacks. With it, you can lock today’s cheapest fuel price for up to seven days and earn free coffee while you’re at it.
How 7-Eleven Fuel Lock Works
Fuel Lock is the standout feature — it lets you freeze a cheap fuel price and use it later, even if pump prices rise. The basics:
Lock the Price
In the app, lock the current price for a chosen fuel type at any participating store within a wide radius of your location. You can hold that price for up to seven days.
Beat the Price Cycle
Australian fuel prices move in cycles. Lock at the bottom of the cycle and you keep that low price to fill up later in the week when board prices have jumped.
Lock Anywhere Cheap
You can lock a price seen at a cheaper store and redeem it at a more convenient one within the allowed range — you’re not tied to filling up where you found the price.
Re-Lock as Needed
Once you redeem or the lock expires, you can set a new one. Check fuel-price apps for the cycle low, then lock it in before it climbs.
Tip: Fuel Lock terms (radius, lock duration, litre cap) change over time — confirm the current limits in the app. The strategy stays the same: lock low, redeem high.
