Be touched by the spirit of the energetic and able horse, the seventh sign of the Chinese zodiac, as you welcome Chinese New Year with workshops, demonstrations, classes, performances and talks—most of which are free with garden entry!.
Experience the garden for the first time or introduce this special place to your friends and family on the free open day on Friday 24 January. The opening of the garden’s Chinese New Year festivities will also include a traditional lion dance, said to bring luck and fortune for the year ahead.
Then, over the next two weeks, make sure you return to the garden to experience a tea ceremony, join a tai chi class, learn the delicate art of penjing or take home a beautiful Chinese brush painting.
